THE BLINDNESS OF THOSE WHO DON’T WANT TO SEE
We live in a time of an ambiguous enviromental concern, where we see crowds of pseudo-environmentalists with exteme worries and effortful attitudes, using “enviroment flag” in order to make their voices heard. Still it was necessary for a unheard virus to fall upon us for the actions of said pseudo-environmentalists to be proven to have low efficiency.
It’s not unusual the need, for such philosofers, to identify scapegoats, no matter how insignificant of a polluter, in order to impose their austere laws.
Unfortunatly, in this trend we see a certain political class who surgically identified, most likely advised by our pseudo-environmentalists, vintage vehicles as the main cause for their environmental problems and their solution was to limit the circulation of all vintage vehicles.
Now, about the pseudo-environmentalists who claimed that the bicycle is the only truly ecological mean of transportation, yet accept as na alternative solution the electric vehicles, naturally with clean energy, we ask such pseudo-environmentalists how they intend to produce the bateries needed for such mobility, being that when Portugal tried to explore lithium, every faction, under their command, opposed such situation. The explanation that we were given was that in some south american country with high quantities of the metal, and certenatly for that reason the exploration shouldn’t have any environmental impact. As we now, this batteries aren’t endless, sooner or later this will need dismantling, maintenance and possibly we would like to know the solution of the pseudo-enviromentalists when it comes to this matter, even though they still use devices that are powered by such batteries. Not to mention the denim that is so casually worn by them, that during production passes by the hands of borderline slaves and becomes a powerhouse in the pollutant field.
Given that none of us is, or tries to be, a scientist, we prupose the following point for reflexion:
“Given that 60% of all eletric power is produced in nuclear plants, where does the “clean energy” ome from?”.
Regarding the politicians who prohibit the circulation of vintage vehicles in historic distritcs besed on enviromental issues, standing behind the tourism banner and decide to ignore such things as the planes, boats and other means of transportation, that have been proven to pollute, the consumption of water and effluents that generate by the activity, we propuse a deep refleion upon the following topics:
-Since a vintage vehicle was produced, at least, 30 years ago, it’s environmental footprint as long been outdated.
-The restauration of a vintage vehicle prevents the abandonment of the same, therfore avoiding a major environmental issue.
